"More than a Handbag", Liu, Xiao-Qian's Artistic Handbags   Liu, Xiao Qian’s Artistic Handbag Co., was recently established. Though the founder, Mr. Liu, Xiao Qian started in 1982 to create a new concept in handbag design which goes beyond the traditional concept of a handbag being “more than a handbag”.   He treats the leather as his canvas, utilizing very unique techniques to create each handbag. He personally developed and perfected these very unique techniques making his handbags very different to traditional bags.   Mr. Liu, considers the unique form of his handbags as a picture frame capturing the characteristics of each handbag.   Although over the past 20 years Mr. Liu didn’t profit monetarily from designing handbags, he was able to accumulate years of priceless knowledge and expertise which coupled with his strong conviction and determination inspired him to even more passionately pursue his dream. Although pursuing this new concept in handbag design has not been easy. Mr. Liu was able to overcome various obstacles and successfully introduced a new vision in creating leather goods.   Mr. Liu has created a variety of new techniques that he has perfected over the years such as his: engrave series、doodle series、paper cut series、splash painting series、Chinese calligraphy and ink painting series, and the modeling design series.   Though over the years the procedure used in each series has remained the same. The creative process and design of each series continues to evolve making each series very distinct. As Mr. Liu is inspired by each transposing moment and transient emotions he creates and designs each series distinct in its own way.   With consumers being more informed and self-conscious, their concept of value is also changing. Sophisticated consumers are interested in esthetics, they desire to have and own something very elegant but still distinctive that nobody else possesses. In view of current consumer needs innovative companies are constantly striving to design products that satisfy these sophisticated consumers.   More than ten years ago Liu, Xiao Qian was ready to establish his own brand. But the market climate was not ready to embrace these new concepts. Now, the wave of creative and culture have transcended the world. It has become the touchstone for branding new products.
