The National Center for Traditional Arts (NCTA) is located on 24 hectares of land in Wuchieh, Yilan, along route no.2 in the scenic area found in lower reaches of the Tungshan River. Following the Course of the Tungshan River, and facing the Chinshui Water Park, it was established on Oct 4, 2003 to promote traditional arts and to assist the local population in deepening the impact of traditional arts in the area, and encouraging more local and public participation in the running of the Center. With our tradition as a foundation, we will strive forward to ensure that our culture will thrive into the future. In 2004, while transforming the Center from a base for the strategic research of preserving traditional arts into a tourist cultural park for promoting traditional arts, Uni-President Yilan art and Cultureal Corp. formally accepted the sponsorship duties, and started to cooperate in operation of the NCTA. This was also the first time for Uni-President Chain Stores (7-ELEVEn) to attempt to enter the cultural field, and it is hoped that creative marketing methods will elevate standards in the culture and arts industry.
